- When is it best to come to Lake Baikal?
It depends on your preferences. If you like sunny summer days then come between July and August. Winter is best to see between March and April because it is not very cold and usually sunny.
- What kind of clothes is appropriate for the trip to Lake Baikal?
If you go on a trip in the summer, take some clothes for rainy days, sweater (because of the Baikal winds) a jacket and a bathing suit (there are capes and small Lakes suitable for swimming, e.g. Shara-Nur Lake (Olkhon Island) or Mukhor cape (Small Sea). If you travel in winter do not forget your down parka, good winter boots, and a woolen hat.
- What is Banya?
Banya is a kind of Turkish steam bath. People pour hot water onto stones in order to make steam and then beat themselves with flag brooms. Banya is very good for the health, but it is not recommended if a person has some medical conditions such as heart disease.
- What is there to visit in Irkutsk?
Irkutsk is a very beautiful city that combines modern buildings and wooden houses from the 19th – 20th century. There are different sightseeing facilities, museums, restaurants and night clubs.
- How can we get to the Lake Baikal from Irkutsk?
We can make a special transfer for you, there are buses going to the Lake from the bus station in Irkutsk. It is also possible to get there by boat (we can arrange it) or even by helicopter.
