“Grand Baikal” has positive results of crisis year

In 2009 the company “Grand Baikal” net profit made 38.3 million rubles (without the ski resort “Gora Sobolinaya”), this is a little more than the corresponding parameter of the pre-crisis year 2008; tax payments to the budgets of different levels made 75.5 million rubles. Results of the crisis year have proved that the company had a correct strategy that combined measures for reduction of expenses with additional investments in the most perspective fields of activity and optimization of price policy.
In 2009, taking into account repair work expenses, the company invested 18.5 million rubles for the development of its sites. Throughout this period there was conducted regular purchase of certain kinds of equipment and transport for recreational sites.
This year the company investments in the development of sites, including expenses for current and major repair shall get close to the pre-crisis level and shall make 59.2 million rubles.

In January 2010 at the recreation facility "Zvyozdny" there was finished the reconstruction of some premises of water recreation center. There appeared a hamam (Turkish bath), new shower cabins and a rest room. Cost of the project is 540 thousand rubles.
In March 2010 in sanatorium "Electra" there was finished the capital reconstruction of two deluxe cottages, its total cost is 6 million rubles. In just two months the building has changed completely – there was carried out re-layout of premises, the sanitary equipment and furniture was replaced, there were purchased new home appliances. Within a year there’ll be repaired the roof of the main building marble hall, which is a popular place of general meetings of guests, and the forced-air and exhaust ventilation system in the dining room shall also be reconstructed.

Before the summer season at children's recreation camp "Zvyozdny" there’ll be completed the installation of air conditioning system in the big assembly hall.

In May on the territory of Baikal Business Center there was started the reconstruction of parking lots, it is planned to replace all the asphalt and curbstone.

In the second half of the year considerable civil construction is planned on the company’s two sites. In summer at sanatorium "Electra" there will begin the building of a town house consisting of three apartments (each may accommodate up to six guests) and at the boarding house "Energetik" (Nilova Pustyn) - the new two-storey block comprising 16 single and double rooms. At the same period there will begin the designing of a sports recreation center in "Zvyozdny".

Within a year at “Grand Baikal” they’re planning to buy some units of transportation and a lot of special equipment for the following sites: Baikal Business Center, sanatorium "Electra", recreation facility "Zvyozdny", business hotel "Delta" and boarding house "Energetik".

“Gora Sobolinaya” took a new way

In March 2009 the company “Grand Baikal” bought the ski resort “Gora Sobolinaya”. Last year it had the following results: net profit was 3.7 million rubles and tax payments were 16.9 million rubles. It should be remembered that in the past year the new proprietor took measures for financial improvement of the resort and carried out an investment program. In six months the following was accomplished: there was constructed a passenger rope-way 1.6 km long, two rope-ways under went major repair, the training slope was made two times bigger, the new tubing-line was created, three operating lines were made wider, communications were lined to one of tops the providing the snowing system with water and electric power. Besides, there has been started a new system of payment and access that unites the lifts, public catering and rental. The total cost of works on creation of the rope-way, creation and widening of lines, development of the snowing system and introduction of payment system made 101 million rubles.
