"Grand Baikal" has summed up the year 2008.

In 2008 net profit of the company “Grand Baikal” has increased by 43 % in comparison with the year before the last and made 38.2 million rubles. According to the results of 2008 tax payments of the company to the budgets of different levels reached 94.7 million rubles, in comparison with 2007 they increased by 35 %.

Last year, taking into account expenses for repair work, the company spent 55.7 million rubles for the development of its own objects.
 
The chosen priority was the comprehensive development of sanatorium "Electra".
In May in its territory there was opened the second health water spa, including Russian steam room, the Finnish sauna, a hydrochloric bath and a pool. The company spent 1.3 million rubles for its reconstruction. In June in the sanatorium there was conducted a complete renovation of the living space consisting of triple and double rooms. The reconstruction included altering the interior layout, finishing, replacement of furniture, window frames, sanitary equipment and electric wiring and cost 10 million rubles. On the same month in the main block of “Electra” there was put into operation a hall with medical baths worth 3.3 million rubles.

Last spring the company opened an additional office downtown of Irkutsk with a department of exit tourism and a cash desk for the sale of airplane and railway tickets. In August before the Vth Baikal Economic Forum Baikal Business Center finished the reconstruction of a big conference hall that cost about 2 million rubles.In 2009 the company’s investment program and expenses for current and capital repairs are estimated to be 34.8 million rubles.

In April there was finished the renovation of the physiotherapy room at "Electra", in May there’ll be finished the reconstruction of a pool in children's health camp "Zvezdny". The walls and the floor of the big reservoir of the pool shall be covered with special film; there’ll be installed modern closed cycle equipment for water preparation. Water will be exposed to magnetic cleaning of heavy impurities, will pass through system of filters and be disinfected with ultra-violet rays. The same equipment shall be installed in the small reservoir of the pool as well.

This year at “Grand Baikal” it is planned to purchase up to 7 means of transportation and a significant number of pieces of special equipment for its objects - Baikal Business Center, sanatorium "Electra", recreation center "Zvyozdny" and business hotel "Delta".

This year the company will spend no less than 70 million rubles for modernization of mountain skiing resort “Gora Sobolinaya” (“Sable Mountain”) in the city of Baikalsk, purchased in the first quarter of this year. On the mountain slopes there will be constructed a chair lift and a cafe, there’ll be one more training line and the existing ones will be expanded. For the new object the company is planning to buy snow-compacting equipment and to do the current repair of the rooms of the two hotels which are part of the resort.
