On January, 22-23 Baikal Business Center (operating company “Grand Baikal”) hosted high-rank visitors. For two days in its conference halls there took place negotiations and meetings participated by the prime minister of Mongolia Sanj Bayar, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Alexei Gordeyev, the president of "RRR" (Russian Railroads) public corporation Vladimir Yakunin and the head of “Rosatom” Sergey Kirienko. Business facility BBC has turned into one big work site - delegations of Russia and Mongolia made use of all the conference halls and meeting rooms.
On January, 22 the prime minister of Mongolia and the general director of “Rosatom” corporation Sergey Kirienko discussed the work regarding the agreements on the development of uranium deposits located in Mongolia and on construction in this country of small nuclear power stations. At the briefing Sergey Kirienko said that a joint venture of two countries will be created in Mongolia and Russia for the development of uranium deposits. By the end of the first quarter of 2009 it is planned to sign agreements between “Rosatom” and Mongolian agency of nuclear industry development, as well as between the public corporation “Atompredmetzoloto” and Mongolian company on uranium extraction, which is being created at present.
On this day one more decision was announced in BBC - RRR will operate a Russia-owned 50 % package of Ulan Bator railway shares. Vladimir Yakunin mentioned that together with Mongolian colleagues RRR will be engaged in attraction of private investments for modernization of the existing road and for building of new ways to Mongolian deposits.
Prospects of the two countries cooperation in the sphere of agriculture were the topic of the meeting between the prime minister of Mongolia Sanj Bayar, Minister of Agriculture Alexei Gordeyev and the governor of Irkutsk region Igor Esipovsky and of the round table which took place in the big conference hall of BBC. Upon the end of negotiations there was signed a protocol on the measures for the development of Russian-Mongolian business cooperation in the sphere of agriculture and industry in 2009.
