In 2009 the company “Grand Baikal” net profit made 38.3 million rubles (without the ski resort “Gora Sobolinaya”), this is a little more than the corresponding parameter of the pre-crisis year 2008; tax payments to the budgets of different levels made 75.5 million rubles.

On the 8th of October at Baikal Business Center (operating company “Grand Baikal”) there started an extended session of Russian Federal Tax Service (FTS) with FTS managements of the Far East and Siberia federal districts.

Celebration of seven years of the company “Grand Baikal” took place in the centre of hunting and tourism "Talovsky", located in the valley of Buguldeika river 200 km away from Irkutsk. The small cozy center with capacity of 16 persons hosted more than 50 employees of the operating company and of the company objects.

In 2008 net profit of the company “Grand Baikal” has increased by 43 % in comparison with the year before the last and made 38.2 million rubles. According to the results of 2008 tax payments of the company to the budgets of different levels reached 94.7 million rubles, in comparison with 2007 they increased by 35 %.

The Irkutsk tour operator “Grand Baikal” (GB) has defined the amount of investments in the mountain ski resort “Gora Sobolinaya” that was recently bought from Baikal CBK. In 2009 the company is planning to invest 70 million rubles into the new equipment, construction of infrastructure and repair of lines. Participants of the market are skeptical about the profitability of investments into a resort that operates only in winter time.

According to the topic newspaper “Tourinfo” the company “Grand Baikal” was included into the number of the biggest tour operators of Russia and in ten largest regional tour companies of Russia. It should be reminded that “Grand Baikal” stays in the list of leaders of Russian tourist market for five years in a row.

On January, 22-23 Baikal Business Center (operating company “Grand Baikal”) hosted high-rank visitors. For two days in its conference halls there took place negotiations and meetings participated by the prime minister of Mongolia Sanj Bayar, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Alexei Gordeyev, the president of "RRR" (Russian Railroads) public corporation Vladimir Yakunin and the head of “Rosatom” Sergey Kirienko.

Talovskoe hunting and tourism center (managed by Grand Baikal) won in the contest titled "Friends of Baikal-2008" held by “Baikal Environmental Wave”, an Irkutsk regional public organization supported by Greenpeace Russia. Among the experts appraising the tourist objects there were specialists from Pribaikalsk National Park and Geography Institute of the Irkutsk Scientific Center of Siberian Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
